Lockhart Power Company is a sponsor of one of the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health mobile mammography units. Lockhart Power says they welcome the opportunity to support this state-of-the-art Full Field Digital Mammography service in our community. They will bring the mobile unit to the Lockhart Town Hall today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will park the unit in the large parking lot across the street from the Town Hall and Lockhart First Baptist Church.
To be eligible for a mobile mammogram, women must be 35 or older with no current breast symptoms, not pregnant or breast feeding, and able to walk up the stairs of the unit. You can stop by and see if they have any appointment times available, or call Spartanburg Regional Health System at 864-560-7777 or the Town of Lockhart at 545-2103 with any questions.
The mobile unit is equipped with Hologic 3D/Tomosynthesis Mammography equipment. Board-certified radiologists from Spartanburg Regional read all mammography exams. The unit is staffed with mammography technologists, each registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The Center for Breast Health is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration.
