Man rode moped to courthouse for appearance

According to a report from the Union Public Safety Department, a man’s moped was stolen from the courthouse. On Tuesday afternoon, PSO Thomas Willingham came to the courthouse and spoke with Clerk of Court Melanie Lawson. She stated that a man’s moped had been taken. She stated that on Monday, a man was sentenced to 90 days. He rode to the courthouse on his moped. Lawson provided video footage of a female leaving on the moped. Willingham was unable to identify her. Attempts to reach the man’s mother, who was supposed to come get the moped, were unsuccessful. There was no information available on the moped, other than it was red in color. The moped is valued at $800. The case will be forwarded to investigations.
