Most Republican Candidates for State Superintendent Coming to Union

Ellen Weaver likely won't attend

Union County voters have a chance tonight to hear from nearly all of the Republican candidates for State Superintendent of Education. A candidate forum will be held this evening at 7 p.m. at Veterans Lodge at Foster Park. Doors will open at 6 p.m. WBCU News spoke with Freddie Gault with the Union County Republican Party about what those attending can expect this evening:

Candidates slated to attend are Travis Bedson, Bryan Chapman, Kizzi Gibson, Lynda Leventis-Wells, and Kathy Maness. Gault said the other candidate, Ellen Weaver, had a conflict that she was going to try to get worked out, but as of Tuesday, he did not think she would be in attendance.
