New Council Members to be Sworn In Tuesday

Danny Bright, Annie Smith, and Supervisor Phillip Russell will take their oaths of office

The new members of Union County Council will take their oaths of office next week. A swearing-in ceremony is planned for Danny Bright and Annie Smith on Tuesday, January 3, starting at 10 a.m. on the main floor of the Union County Courthouse. Bright was elected to represent District 1, and Smith will represent District 4. Supervisor Phillip Russell will also take his oath of office for his four-year term. Russell took the oath on December 1st, but that only covered the month for which he was filling the unexpired term of interim Supervisor Bob Love. The public is invited to attend.
