Numerous Halloween Activities Planned

Downtown Trick or Treat event set for Monday

Halloween is Monday, and there are quite a few events going on across the county to celebrate it. If you know of more events than these, bring a flyer by WBCU or email one to daniel@wbcuradio.com. This year’s Halloween Downtown Trick or Treat, sponsored by the Union County Chamber of Commerce, is expected once again to draw hundreds of families to Main Street. This year’s event will be held on Halloween, Monday, October 31, from 4-5:30 p.m. Businesses are asked to participate and provide candy for the trick-or-treaters during that time. For food vendor information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 427-9039.

Several churches in Buffalo are joining forces for a trunk or treat event Monday from 6-7 p.m. at the Buffalo Mill Pond Field. They will have lots of candy, the fire department will be there, they will have bounce houses for the kids, and a lot of fun in a safe, family-friendly environment.

Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church will also be holding a trunk or treat event Monday, with a hot dog supper at 6 in their ministry center and a trunk or treat at the church ballfield at 6:30. They are located at 2153 Mt. Lebanon Road in Buffalo.

On Saturday, the Southern Legends Motorcycle Club and Union County Tourism will hold a Trunk or Treat Motorcycle, Car, and Truck Show from 12-3 p.m. It will be in the parking lot at Wingz Sports Pub at 719 North Duncan Bypass. They will have trophies for best decorated motorcycle, best male and female costume, and plenty of treats for the kids.

Morningside Baptist Church is teaming up with First Baptist Church to present the 3rd-annual Great Candy Hunt. It will be this Saturday from 4-6 p.m. The hunt will begin in the parking lot at First Baptist, at 405 East Main Street. You will register there, get your first bag of candy, and get your first clue to your next destination.

Waffle House and Addiction Car Club will hold a Trunk or Treat Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at Waffle House, located at 519 North Duncan Bypass.

Snip It Salon and Spa will hold their annual fall festival in the West Towne Plaza parking lot at 441 North Duncan Bypass Saturday from 2-8 p.m. They are looking for vendors of all kinds, with a table fee of $15. Call Jay at 441-0688 for more information.

West Springs will hold their 2nd annual Trunk or Treat and Costume Contest on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at 116 West Springs Ballfield Road. The costume contest, for ages 12 and under, will begin at 7 p.m. They will have lots of candy, as well.

The West Springs Spook House, an annual tradition since 1973, will be open two nights this year. They will be open starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday and on Halloween. The cost for admission is $5.
