Truck Full of Toys will be at each parade, remote broadcasts
Now that Thanksgiving is past, the Christmas Parade season begins in Union County. As usual, the Buffalo Christmas Parade will lead off the season this Sunday, November 28, at 4 p.m. The Union Christmas Parade will be the second on the schedule, on Friday, December 3, at 6 p.m. The theme for this year’s parade, presented by the Union County Chamber of Commerce, is Merry & Bright Christmas Parade of Lights. Participants are encouraged to light their entries for a chance to win cash prizes. Registration forms may be picked up at the Chamber office, at 135 West Main Street or online at unionsc.com. The parade will be broadcast live on Facebook for those who can’t make it in person. The Union parade will be followed by the Jonesville Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 4, at 3 p.m. The final two parades of the season are scheduled for the following week. The Carlisle Christmas Parade is scheduled on Saturday, December 11, at 2 p.m. Lockhart’s Christmas Parade will cap the season with their annual parade Sunday, December 12, at 3 p.m.
WBCU will broadcast each parade live, and our Truck Full of Toys will be in each parade. At the parade, you can bring a new, unwrapped toy for a Union County boy or girl and hand it to the driver during the parade. You can also drop off toys or monetary contributions at our studios at 210 East Main Street Monday through Friday from 7-4 and Saturdays from 7-1. We will have two live remotes from Dollar General and Walmart on Saturday, December 4, and Saturday, December 11, as well. Thanks to all our sponsors and our listeners who help make Christmas brighter for a lot of children each year. Special thanks to the Salvation Army, who sorts and distributes the toys for us each year.
