Victim said he didn't see who shot him
The Union Public Safety Department responded to Union Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon for a gunshot victim. Cpl. Malik Harris spoke with the victim, who stated he was at a relative’s house on Knuckles Street. He then walked up to the intersection of Knuckles and Foster streets. He then heard a gunshot that came from his right. The victim realized he was shot and began to run. He called his brother, who came and picked him up and took him to the hospital for treatment. The victim said he did not see any vehicles around, nor anyone walking around. He also stated he did not shoot himself. He said the shot came from the area of James Moorer Park on Foster Street. Harris took pictures of the victim’s gunshot wound to his left foot as well as his shoe, which had a hole on the top right side. He called for an investigator to go to the scene of the shooting to look for evidence, but Captain Parker and Pfc Hill did not find anything. Hill spoke with multiple residents in the area, and none of them said they heard a gunshot. The investigation will continue.
