RobinHood Group Receives Grant Through Duke Energy

Daniel Prince

Grants target black-leading or black-serving nonprofits in SC

The RobinHood Group is one of nine black-leading or black-serving nonprofit organizations in South Carolina chosen to participate in a pilot cohort program. The nonprofits were chosen by Duke Energy and Together SC in celebration of Black Philanthropy Month. The pilot program is called Powered Up and will pair each organization’s team with Together SC staff, consultants, and nonprofit leaders to help the organization develop their leadership capacity; improve their governance, operations, and financial conditions; and increase their impact.

Chosen alongside RobinHood Group are Dramatic Coffee Beans, Inc. of Florence; Food Bank of Greenwood County; GRASP of Great Falls; Lydia’s Bowls of Mercy Home in Johnsonville; Step by Step Ministry Hope Project in Greenville; Sustaining Way of Greenville; The Haven Men’s Shelter of Rock Hill; and Victory Gardens International in Rock Hill.

Together SC is committed to action towards racial equality, diversity, and inclusion in the nonprofit sector in South Carolina and is dedicated to developing transformative partnerships that will contribute to a more equitable state. The Duke Energy Foundation supplied Together SC with a $50,000 grant to create and implement the Powered Up pilot program.
