Storytelling event scheduled this Saturday
Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site has an evening event scheduled this Saturday. It is called Twilight Lore, Bonfire, and More. It will be held this Saturday, August 20, starting at 7 p.m. Rose Hill presented this event two weeks ago, as well, and they hope for a good crowd on Saturday. Rangers will be telling the tales that enslaved individuals would have shared amongst themselves. The evening will include a ranger-led walking grounds tour, a bonfire with s'mores, and folklore stories.
The walking tour will include hiking over uneven terrain. Rose Hill suggests bringing bug spray and wearing close-toed shoes or boots and clothing appropriate for the weather. Cost is $10 per person, and reservations are required three days prior to the program. Call 427-5966 or email rosehill@scprt.com. In case of inclement weather, the program may not be held. Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site is located at 2677 Sardis Road. Don’t forget that the bridge on Sardis Road over the Tyger River is closed for repairs, so you will need to detour to come in from the far end of Sardis Road.
