Survey results don't affect school report card numbers

The South Carolina Department of Education has released this year’s round of student, teacher, and parent school climate surveys to be filled out and submitted. Results of the student and teacher surveys will be reflected in the School Climate Indicator in each school’s report card rating. Parent surveys are not reflected in the school report card numbers, but answers to three parent survey questions will be displayed on the report card, and the survey provides the state and the schools with important information on the parent’s perception of the school or schools their children attend. Parents can access the survey via the Parent Portal on Power School. Only one response per student will be accepted, and parents of pre-K students do not need to respond to the survey. The survey will remain open until Friday, April 14, for parents to complete. The South Carolina Department of Education will provide schools with anonymous teacher, student, and parent survey result reports once the surveys have all been completed.
