Event celebrating families reading together debuted in 2019
The Union County School District and Union Reads is bringing back its Reading Under the Stars event this year. They debuted the event in the fall of 2019, turning the Union County High School football team’s off week into a family evening together on the football field reading books and celebrating literacy. Reading Under the Stars will take place this year on Friday, October 14, which again is Union County High School’s bye week. The event will be held at the stadium from 6-8:30. Concessions will be available for purchase, and there is entertainment scheduled from 6-7:30. They will have special guests, face painting, photo booths, and free books. From 7:30-8:30, families will be encouraged to read together under the stars. You are asked to bring towels or lawn chairs for sitting on or around the field.
