Program allows rising 9th graders to take college courses during their high school careers
There will be a parent information meeting scheduled tonight on the USC-U Scholars Institute Early College program. The school district is partnering with the university to offer this program to rising 9th-grade students, which allows them to take some college courses along the way in their high school careers, with tracks offered in nursing, elementary education, and general education, from which a student can move into one of the specialized tracks later if they choose. Enrolled students can earn an associate of arts or associate of science degree from USC Union. The information meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at Jonesville Elementary-Middle School. USC Union will then host an open house for students and parents on Tuesday, March 1. Details will be given at the parent information meeting. They held an information meeting at Sims last Thursday.
