Cheerleaders, band on hand to provide pep rally atmosphere for the celebration

A festive atmosphere greeted Union County teachers, administrators, and staff as they arrived at Union County High School for the Union County School District’s Opening Day Celebration for the 2022-2023 school year. As everyone filed into the gym, they were greeted by the Union County High School Yellow Jacket cheerleaders on one end and the Sting Machine band on the other end. When everyone settled in, Superintendent Joey Haney welcomed everyone, noting that it was the first time since he took this job that he was able to get everyone in the district together under one roof to celebrate the start of the school year. COVID had forced the last two opening celebrations to be held online. The UCHS JROTC presented the colors as Tee Farr led the Pledge of Allegiance and Tiffany Littlejohn sang the national anthem. Reverend Brad Goodale opened in prayer, taking time first to encourage the teachers, telling them that if not for God, his mother, and his teachers, he wouldn’t be where he is today:
