Students who attend will receive an icee and free books
The Union County School District is hosting summer book giveaways next week in different communities around the county. Next Monday, June 20, they will give away books at the Carlisle Town Hall at 11 a.m. They will then go to Morningside Baptist Church at 1 p.m., and on to the Hunt Drive Apartments on Barnado Road at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, June 21, they will give away books at the Lockhart Town Hall at 11 a.m., and at Jonesville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. On Thursday, June 23, they will give away books at the Porter Street Activity Room at 11 a.m., on Flat Drive in Buffalo at 1 p.m., and at the Lakeside Manor Apartments on Lakeside Drive at 2 p.m. At the giveaways, students will receive an Icee and free books. Parents can also sign the summer reading pledge at the event. A parent must attend the event with the student. The book giveaways are sponsored by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Union County School District, and Sonoco.
