Board approves overnight field trips for wrestling team
At Monday night’s Union County School Board meeting, Finance Director Kelly Richardson told the board that the district has taken in around $10.3 million so far this year, and expenses are running at $10 million, leaving a net operating total of around $323,000. She said that figure has been shrinking in recent months, but it should begin to grow again soon, as local tax revenue starts to come in during the month of December.
The board approved overnight field trips for the wrestling team for the Upper State Tournament at West-Oak High School February 18-19, and to the State Tournament in Anderson on February 25-26, if any of their wrestlers qualify. They also approved a trip for the band to a band clinic at the University of South Carolina in Columbia on February 10-12. They also approved a trip to Charleston by the 5th grade at Monarch Elementary School on March 28-29.
We’ll have more from the meeting in tomorrow’s newscast.
