Sheriff's Office Gives Information on Large Police Presence on Vernon Foster Road

Man with active warrants was in a stolen vehicle

Captain Scott Coffer sent out a report in response to questions about a heavy law enforcement presence on Vernon Foster Road yesterday. Coffer said that deputies got behind a stolen vehicle occupied by a male with active warrants. Once the man saw the deputies, he sideswiped another vehicle and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later by the UCSO K-9 unit. He is being held at the Union County Detention Center awaiting further charges from the UCSO. The incident report will be released today, and WBCU News will have more details on the case after that.
