Toddler was brought to the hospital unresponsive, teen found unresponsive at home
The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two deaths of young people in the county. According to a release sent by Captain Scott Coffer, the sheriff’s office responded to a call on Monday regarding a child fatality. On Sunday, a two-year-old was brought to Union Medical Center unresponsive. After extensive efforts of medical staff, the child passed away.
On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office was dispatched to an address in Buffalo regarding an unresponsive 14-year-old. Deputies arrived on the scene and began CPR, but the efforts were unsuccessful, and the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coffer notes this is an ongoing investigation in both cases, and no other information will be released at this time.
