The Union County Sheriff’s Office has two deputy positions open right now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Minimum starting pay for uncertified officers is $40,170. Certified officer pay is based on experience, ranging from $41,588 to $53,054. Benefits include 13 paid holidays, with holiday premium pay for worked holidays; annual leave and sick leave accruals each year with unused rollover from year to year; overtime available; student loan forgiveness program; 15 days of paid military leave a year; county employees are eligible to complete an associate degree tuition-free at USC Union; SC PEBA health, dental, vision, and life insurance; SC PEBA police officers retirement system; and off-duty work is available.
