Sheriff's Office Makes the Move to its New Building

Daniel Prince

Sheriff's office is in the former Wells Fargo Bank building

The Union County Sheriff’s Office has officially made the move to its new location at 200 East Main Street, at the former Wells Fargo Bank building. The county approved the purchase of the building in June 2021, at a purchase price of $145,000 for the building and its furnishings. Satchel Construction won the bid to do the renovation work on the property, at an initial bid of just under $200,000. Change orders along the way added close to $60,000 more, for a final price tag of a little over $400,000. The former drive-through building has been converted to a patrol office, and evidence will be stored in the vault area. Signage for the building has been ordered but not yet installed. A ribbon cutting and grand opening event will be planned in the coming weeks. The sheriff’s office asks for the public’s patience as their staff gets settled in at the new office.
