Game started but cancelled due to storms; no refunds offered
Union County High School’s home opener Friday night did not go as anyone wanted. The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but Gaffney drove down and took a 7-6 lead. As Union County was driving down the field, a thunderstorm rolled through, halting the action. After about 45 minutes, the decision was made to call the game and not make it up, a decision that upset fans on both sides. WBCU’s Chris Woodson talked with Coach Brian Thompson about the meeting that led to the decision to cancel the game:

Union County will have their next home game this Friday night against York. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
