Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today

Polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for two special elections in the county. The first is for Union County School Board District 6, where voters will choose the candidate that will take over Frank M. Hart’s seat on the board through 2024. District 6 comprises parts of the Bonham, Buffalo, Jonesville Box 1, Jonesville Box 2, Kelton, Ward 1 Box 2, and Ward 4 Box 1 precincts. Two candidates are running for the seat—Kevin Brewington and Jordan Jeter.

The other special election taking place today will be for the Jonesville Fire Board. There is only one candidate on the ballot there, and that is James E. “Jimmy” Wilkins.

WBCU News will not be providing live election results on air, but we will cover the election and post updates to our website and Facebook page and provide full coverage in Wednesday’s newscasts.
