Jonesville Fire Board seat also up for election

Tomorrow, on Tuesday, April 11, there will be two special elections in Union County. The first is for Union County School Board District 6, where voters will choose the candidate that will take over Frank M. Hart’s seat on the board through 2024. District 6 comprises parts of the Bonham, Buffalo, Jonesville Box 1, Jonesville Box 2, Kelton, Ward 1 Box 2, and Ward 4 Box 1 precincts. Two candidates are running for the seat—Kevin Brewington and Jordan Jeter. If you missed our political forum with Kevin Brewington last Tuesday, you can check it out on our Facebook page. We featured a statement from Jordan Jeter at the beginning of that program, as Jeter was unable to attend due to work. You can read more about Jeter in the March 28 edition of the Union County News, as well.

The other special election taking place next Tuesday will be for the Jonesville Fire Board. There is only one candidate on the ballot there, and that is James E. “Jimmy” Wilkins.

WBCU News will not be providing live election results on air, but we will cover the election and post updates to our website and Facebook page and provide full coverage in Wednesday’s newscasts.
