Vehicle was stolen from apartment complex on Lakeside Drive
An abandoned vehicle found on Kelly Road with its rear driver’s side window and ignition switch punched out turned out to have been stolen from an apartment complex on Lakeside Drive. The vehicle was found around 2:45 a.m. last Thursday. Thursday afternoon, Sgt. Scott Hood was notified by Sgt. Felts that he was out with the owner of the vehicle at Lakeview Garden Apartments. She said that she works from home and did not notice the vehicle was missing. She last saw it parked in the parking lot near the trash bin on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The vehicle was a gold-colored 2012 Hyundai Elantra, valued at $10,500. After the investigation, the vehicle was returned to the victim. The case has been turned over to investigations.
