Haney says 67 4K students registered at stadium event
In Superintendent Joey Haney’s updates to the school board at Monday’s meeting, he thanked everyone involved in the recent 4K registration event at the stadium. He said they registered 67 students that day. He noted that well-known author Damon West had spoken to assemblies at both middles schools, the Achievement Academy, and Union County High School earlier that day, and he was speaking that night at the big event at the fairgrounds sponsored by Healthy U Behavioral Health and the Spartanburg Regional Foundation. He noted that the Rotary Club Dinner Theater will be back this year, set for Wednesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Union County High School Cafetorium, followed by the GT Drama production of Hairspray. Non-dinner performances will continue Thursday through Saturday, April 27-29, at 7:30 p.m. He noted that this Thursday, which was yesterday, the Union County Development Board was partnering with the district to bring the first Union County Career Day for grades 4-12, to expose students to potential careers they could have in the future. He also noted that next week will be spring break.
