Belk is shifting distribution back to stores
With the announced closing of the Belk Fulfillment Center, WBCU News asked Frank Hart what Belk officials have been telling the county, and what will happen next, both for the employees and for the building, which isn’t owned by Belk but by another company that leases to Belk:

Hart said from discussions the county has had with Belk, the decision to close the fulfillment center came from the company trying to find a more economical way to run the logistics side of their business. He said they are shifting their ecommerce from central distribution back to their brick-and-mortar stores. Union’s Belk store closed in January 2016.
