Unknown if fight reported at fairgrounds is related to the shooting
The Union Public Safety Department sent out a release early Saturday stating a teenager was shot near the fairgrounds about an hour after the fair closed. The report states that the Union County Sheriff’s Office handled an altercation involving juveniles inside the fair shortly after 11 p.m. Friday. Just before midnight, there was a call for shots fired near Harris Street and Old Buffalo Road, near the fairgrounds. A 14-year-old male was found at the scene, suffering from a gunshot wound. The shots were reported to have come from a vehicle that fled the scene. The victim was transported by EMS to Union Medical Center. His condition is not known.
