Blood drives planned at Walmart July 2, 7, and 14
There is an urgent need for blood donors across the area as The Blood Connection tries to meet the needs of the area hospitals it serves. There are three chances to give the gift of life in the next couple of weeks. The bloodmobile will be at Walmart of Union this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. They will return to Walmart on Thursday, July 7, from 11-7, and a third time at Walmart on Thursday, July 14, from 3-8 p.m. All donors will receive a $20 eGift card.
The organization needs to collect 800 donations a day to provide the blood needed by the area hospitals it serves. They say if everyone who can donate blood did so on a regular basis, every two months, there would never be a blood shortage.
