Man shot in home invasion on McClure Street on November 8
A third Union man has been charged with attempted murder in a shooting incident that occurred on November 8. According to arrest warrants, 25-year-old Kemon Shyquarius Jones was one of three people who shot another man in the shoulder with a pistol at the man’s McClure Street residence. The warrants state the three subjects unlawfully entered the man’s residence intending to take anything of value from the occupants of the residence by force. Jones was arrested Thursday and is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted armed robbery, first-degree burglary, and marijuana possession. Bond on Kershaw was denied. As reported last week, Edwin Sentrell Kershaw and Danny Ray Davis also face charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted armed robbery, and first-degree burglary.
According to the incident report, when city officers arrived, they spoke with Danny Davis, who had on blood-soaked jeans with what appeared to be clothes stuffed in them to stop the bleeding. EMS was called to the scene. Davis told officers he was home when somebody tried to rob him. He told officers he did not have a weapon on him. While on scene, another man came out from his yard and told officers that someone had broken into his residence. He said he was asleep on the couch when three males kicked his door in and were waving guns, attempting to rob the place. The man said when they got in, the shooting started. He said his son was shooting back at the people who broke in, and his son had been shot during the incident and was taken to the hospital by the mother. Officers found several shell casings and a loaded magazine in the area. The front door had a dent, and a portion of the door frame was busted, as well. The on-call investigator was called to process the scene. As a result of the investigation, Davis, Kershaw, and Jones were arrested and charged in the incident.
