Three Arrested in Drug Cases Dating Back to Last Year

Two released on bond, while one remains in jail

The Union Public Safety Department has arrested three people on a variety of drug charges in cases dating back as far as January 2022. 40-year-old Eddie Brannon, Jr., was arrested Tuesday and charged with four counts of distribution of cocaine base, third or subsequent offense; one count of trafficking cocaine base, third or subsequent offense; and distribution of marijuana. He is accused of selling crack cocaine to a confidential informant on January 22, 2022; February 1, 2022; February 24, 2022; and March 8, 2022. He is accused of selling marijuana to a confidential informant on January 22, 2022. He is also accused of selling more than 10 grams of crack cocaine to a confidential informant on April 6, 2022, which led to the trafficking charge. All the transactions were done at his residence on East Lee Street. Bond was set at $150,000 on the charges, and he remains in the Union County Detention Center.

30-year-old Lamarwin Deshawn Kershaw was arrested Tuesday and charged with four counts of distribution of marijuana and four counts of distribution of marijuana near a playground. Kershaw is accused of selling marijuana to a confidential informant on January 21, 2022; January 25, 2022; January 27, 2022; and February 21, 2022. The sales took place at his residence on Chambers Avenue, which is less than half a mile from a playground on West Henrietta Street. Bond on the charges totaled $60,000. Kershaw was released on bond.

34-year-old Michael Antonio Norman was arrested Tuesday and charged with distribution of a Schedule 2 narcotic, distribution of a controlled substance near a school, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana near a playground. Norman is accused of selling a quantity of blue pills to a confidential informant on October 5, 2022, at an address on North Pinckney Street. The address is less than half a mile from USC Union. When he was arrested at an address on Erwin Avenue, he had a large amount of marijuana in his possession. The address is less than half a mile from City Park. Bond on the charges was set at $30,000, and Norman was released on bond.
