Street bike and four-wheeler stolen from shipping containers

The Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men on burglary and grand larceny charges. Deputy Kevin Felts responded to an address on Neal Shoals Road for a larceny. The victim stated that he hadn’t been to the property in nearly a month because his wife had been sick. When he was working on the property, he stated the locks were missing off a couple of shipping containers on the property, and a street bike and a four-wheeler were missing. Sgt. Felts reviewed pictures from trail cameras set up on the property. One showed a male break into the residence on April 16 at 6:15 a.m., and then at 6:57 a.m., the male looked at the shipping containers. At 7:01, one of the dirt bikes was seen parked beside the container, and in the next few minutes it was gone. On April 21 at 10:44 p.m., a male with a backpack came onto the property and opened both shipping containers. A second male was shown with the first at 11:20 p.m., and one was shown driving the four-wheeler out of the container. The victim reviewed the pictures and stated it was the third time someone had stolen from him, and that it appeared to be the same individuals that took belongings from him the last time.

23-year-old Malik Tremaine Porter and 21-year-old Jacob Nathaniel Marler were arrested last Friday and charged with 3rd-degree burglary and grand larceny. Porter was released on $20,000 bond, while Marler remains in the Union County Detention Center. His bond was also set at $20,000, though he is also being held for a charge out of Summerville.
