Several fundraisers are planned to help students raise money
The Union County High School Sting Machine Marching Band is planning a trip to Universal Studios in Florida next year over spring break. A parent meeting was held on May 1 to provide information on the trip. The Sting Machine will have the chance to march and play in a parade at Universal Studios Park while on the trip. The last trip to Disney was scheduled for 2020 but was cancelled due to COVID. Any parents who wish to chaperone the trip will need to complete the school district’s Secure Volunteer check, which can be found on the district’s website.
Several fundraising opportunities will take place to help students raise money for the trip. They include a May calendar Go Fund Me page, a BBQ dinner in August, World’s Finest Chocolate sales, and a popcorn sale. Also, a skate night fundraiser is scheduled at the Union Skate Center on Monday, May 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Entry will be $5, with proceeds going to the band.
