Union County Fair Wraps Up This Weekend

Pageant, car giveaway among the highlights

The Union County Agricultural Fair has two days remaining. Gates and rides will be open today from 4-10 p.m. Ride bands will be $30. The Meat Goat Show will take place in the barn area at 6 p.m. The headlining entertainment will be the Radford Band, who will perform onstage from 8-10 p.m. Union County Fair Executive Director Paul Winters tells us about a couple of other highlights at the fair today:

The 2014 Kia Optima, provided by WT’s of Jonesville, will be given away at 8:30, and you must be present to win. Ground acts include Lew-E the Clown, with shows today at 6:30 and 8:30, and Saturday at 2:30, 4:30, 6:30, and 8:30. Rosaire’s Racing Pigs will have shows today at 5:30, 7:30, and 9:30, and 3:30, 5:30, 7:30, and 9:30 on Saturday. A chainsaw carver will be doing live demonstrations both days starting at 4 p.m., as well.
Gate admission is $8 for ages 13-61, $6 for ages 2-12 and ages 62 and older, and those under age 2 get in for free.

The weather for both days will continue to be beautiful, with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the upper 30s tonight, and highs in the lower 70s and lows in the mid-40s Saturday.
