Annual Kids Fest is scheduled for April 30 at Foster Park
Union County First Steps is hosting a kindergarten preparation event again this year called Kits for Kids. The event is being held for ages 3-5. Each family who attends will receive a learning kit filled with different activities to help prepare them for kindergarten. The first event was held in Buffalo last week, but four more opportunities remain to pick up a kit for your young child.
Families are asked to pick one event that is the most convenient for you to attend. The next event will be at the Carlisle Town Hall tomorrow, Wednesday, March 9, from 11-noon. They will be at the Lockhart Town Hall on Tuesday, March 15, from 11-noon. They will then go to the Jonesville Town Hall on Wednesday, March 23, from 11-noon, and wrap up the events on Wednesday, March 30, at the Porter Street Community Center from 11-noon. As noted, the event will begin at 11. The Union County First Steps staff will be demonstrating how the materials in the kits can be used to get your child ready for school. If you need more information, call Union County First Steps at 426-2519.
Another event First Steps puts on each year is the annual Kids Fest. Signs are already going up around town promoting the event, which is scheduled at Foster Park on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
