125+ trips scheduled in first three weeks of February
Union County Public Transportation has now been operating for a month and a half, and according to Union County Community Development Director Kathy Jo Lancaster, the service is already growing. She said over the three-week period from February 3-24, more than 125 trips had been scheduled, and additional trips were planned for this week, as well.
Starting next week, the service will be expanding to offer service in the towns of Carlisle, Lockhart, and Jonesville once a month. Lancaster said that residents from each town provided input regarding the best day for service. Public transportation will be available in Carlisle the first Monday of each month, starting this coming Monday, March 6. The service will be in Lockhart the first Tuesday of each month, starting Tuesday, March 7. It will provide service in Jonesville on the third Monday of each month, beginning Monday, March 20. If the demand is there, additional days may be scheduled in the future.
