Union County Republican Party Hosting Red Wave Event This Saturday

Event will feature a host of state and local candidates

Union County will be the place to be this Saturday for state and local Republican candidates. The Union County Republican Party is hosting a Red Wave event at Union County Stadium Saturday from 3-6 p.m. Speakers will include Governor Henry McMaster, US Representative Ralph Norman, SC Secretary of State Mark Hammond, SC State Treasurer Curtis Loftis, SC Superintendent of Education candidate Ellen Weaver, and state GOP chairman Drew McKissick. Locally, candidates will include Phillip Russell, who is running for Union County Supervisor; Danny Bright, who is a candidate for County Council District 1; and Annie Smith, who is running for County Council District 4. In addition, a couple of candidates who are running unopposed in November will be there, as well—Probate Judge Toni Horne Allen and SC House District 42 Rep. Doug Gilliam.

Appearing on Union County’s Morning Show earlier in the week, Union County Republican Party Chairman Thom McAbee emphasized that the event is free, and talked about why the party is offering the event:
