Jennings also faces meth trafficking charge
A Union man was arrested in connection with a recent burglary of a home. Back on January 27, Investigator Chris Fleming was looking into a vehicle break-in on North Evans Street when the victim informed him that a neighbor down the street had also been a victim of a burglary recently and had a video of the burglary. Fleming followed up with the victim down the street. As a result of the investigation, 48-year-old Andrew Reid Jennings, of Hart Street, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and petit larceny.
According to the arrest warrants, Jennings is accused of forcefully entering the residence on North Evans Street back on January 22 during the night. Once inside, he is accused of stealing a plate and other miscellaneous items. Total value of the stolen items was estimated at $40. The warrants were signed last Thursday, and Jennings was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Union County Detention Center. Bond was set at $21,092.50 on the charges. According to the inmate portal, Jennings is also charged with trafficking methamphetamine, greater than 28 grams but less than 100 grams, third or subsequent offense, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Details on those charges have not yet been released. Bond was set at $30,000 for those charges. Jennings remains in the detention center.
