Man threatens animal control officer who had stopped to finish up paperwork
A Union man was charged with threatening a public employee. The incident happened last Friday, September 30. An animal control officer had stopped at the church on Bowling Avenue and Hart Street to finish some paperwork from a call he had just cleared. A man the officer identified as 36-year-old Brandon Abney pulled up to his vehicle. Abney had his son in the car with him. According to the officer, Abney told him to stay off his street, and that he better be gone by the time he takes his son home or he's going to take care of him by force. The officer took that as a threat. The officer went to Public Safety Headquarters and wrote a statement on the incident. Abney was arrested and charged with threatening a public employee.
