Man was reportedly breaking into a house when the homeowner shot him
A Union native was killed in a shooting incident just after midnight Friday. Media reports state that 40-year-old Paul O’Neil Bobo, Jr. was found dead inside a home on Beacon Light Road. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office stated the call came in just after midnight, and Bobo was pronounced dead at 12:27 a.m. He had been shot several times. Reports state that Lt. Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said that it appears Bobo was in the process of committing a burglary when he was shot by the homeowner. The incident remains under investigation, and there is no word on if the homeowner will face any charges in connection with the incident. According to his obituary, Bobo was born in Union. He graduated from Broome High School and had worked as a carpenter.
