Union Presbyterian Church Thanks Citizens for Angel Tree Support

Daniel Prince

Local church sponsors 81 children through Prison Fellowship program

Union Presbyterian Church sent out a thank you to the community for its support of the church’s Angel Tree ministry last year. They partnered with Prison Fellowship to send a gift card in the name of a parent in prison, along with a personal note from the parent and some Christian literature. The church set a goal of sponsoring 50 children this year, but with the community’s generous support, they were able to sponsor 81. Nationwide, more than 270,000 children were blessed through the Angel Tree ministry.

Prison Fellowship is one of the world's most effective ministries to prisoners. They conduct Bible studies, and witness and minister in various ways to inmates and their families. They also provide help for prisoners and their families after they are released from prison. Angel Tree is an important part of this ministry. Many come to faith as a result of the Angel Tree ministry. Others have their faith strengthened, and still others have had family relationships healed through these expressions of Christian love.
