Flyer on media outlet's Facebook page leads to finding teen
A Union County teen has been found safe after being reported missing. Around 11:40 last night, Captain Scott Coffer said that someone reached out after seeing the flyer posted on a media outlet’s Facebook page, and Markayla Cheek was located.
Tuesday afternoon, Captain Scott Coffer with the Union County Sheriff’s Office sent out a call for the public to be on the lookout for a missing juvenile. 16-year-old Markayla Cheek was last seen in the Carlisle community on September 29. She is 5’ 3” tall, weighing around 145 pounds, and has short, curly, black hair. Coffer says the sheriff’s office knows she has been in the public since she went missing. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are not known.
