Library and United Way partner for the annual program offering tax prep help
The Union County Library System will partner with the United Way of the Piedmont again this year to offer free income tax assistance to individuals and families in Union County with a household income of less than $60,000 a year. To be assisted, you will need to bring the Social Security cards and/or ITIN cards for the taxpayer, spouse, and dependents listed on the return; photo ID for the taxpayer and spouse if married filing jointly; birthdates for the taxpayer, spouse, and dependents; all income statements, including W-2, 1099, 1099-R, Social Security Benefits Statement and other income sources; tuition statement 1098-T and related expenses from college or technical school; statement from a child care provider, which includes the total paid and the tax ID number; Affordable Care Act statements, which are forms 1095-A, B, or C; a copy of last year’s return, if available; and bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of any refund.
