Next political forum will feature County Council District 5 special election candidates

Friday morning, WBCU aired the last of our political forums ahead of the June primaries. Friday’s show featured Evangeline Hundley, a Democratic candidate for US House District 5. She faces Kevin Eckert in the Democratic primary, with the winner to face Rep. Ralph Norman in November. Her interview was prerecorded, as she was unable to make it to Union in time for a scheduled live interview the previous week. Hundley talked about why she is running:

The election will be held on Tuesday, June 14. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 7 p.m. WBCU News will provide live election coverage that night to bring you the results as they come in.

Early voting remains open through this Friday for the Union County Council District 5 special election between Gerald Eaves and Carolyn Rutherford. They are seeking to fill the unexpired term of Tommie Hill, who passed away earlier this year. You can vote through Friday, June 17, from 8:30-5 at the Union County Election Commission office. The special election will be held the week after the statewide primaries, on Tuesday, June 21. Polls will be open that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. WBCU News will provide election updates that evening on our Facebook page. WBCU News will host Eaves and Rutherford in a political forum on Thursday, June 16.
