Space for appointments are limited
The Union County Library System is partnering with the University of South Carolina School of Law and the South Carolina Bar to bring their custom 43’ bus, the Palmetto Leader, to Union this Friday. The bus will be at the Union County Carnegie Library at 300 East South Street in Union from 10-2:30 on Friday, April 8. During the visit, a team of volunteer attorneys assisted by USC law students will prepare and execute simple wills and health care powers of attorney. The documents will be provided for free to those who are screened for income eligibility and who make an appointment. The income requirement is based on 200% of the federal poverty level. In addition to the appointments, members of the public who have a legal question and would like a free, brief consultation with an attorney may simply drop by the bus. No appointment will be necessary for that.
