Proceeds going to support Bantams athletics
The 6th annual WBCU Music & Bantams 5K is set for tomorrow morning, May 6, at Foster Park. In the past, the event has raised money for the Miracle League of Union County and the USC Union Nursing program. This year, the proceeds will go to support USC Union Bantams Athletics. Registration and t-shirt and number pick-up will begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot at the park, and the race will begin at 8:30. In case of rain, we will set up under the picnic shelter closest to the parking lot. It’s not too late to enter the race. The cost to register is $30, and you can stop by WBCU today to fill out a registration form, or come to the park in the morning and sign up. Trophies will be awarded to age category winners, and door prizes will be given out, provided by some of our race sponsors. The 5K takes place in and around Foster Park, and a couple of dance stations will be set up to give runners a break to show off their moves. The dance stations are optional, but taking part will shave some time off the overall total. If it rains, we will still be there to give out t-shirts and door prizes and make the donation to the USC Union Bantams Athletics, but for runner safety and comfort, we may not hold the race.
