Harbor Freight confirms interest in the area, while Big Lots does not
Rumors have been circulating in recent weeks about additional retail stores looking to locate in the Union area. WBCU News reached out to the Public and Media Relations offices of two of the companies most mentioned in the rumors, Big Lots and Harbor Freight, to see if they could confirm or deny the rumors. On Monday, Kara Hillis, an advertising supervisor at Big Lots, responded saying that currently, Big Lots is not showing a new store opening in our area. If an opening is announced in the future, WBCU News will let you know.
Craig Hoffman, Director of Corporate Communications and Content with Harbor Freight, said he could not offer specifics, but he did confirm that Harbor Freight is actively looking at opening a location in Union. He said if there is something definite to announce later, he will let us know.
