Rain forced festival to cancel Tuesday's opening
A larger crowd came out Thursday amid beautiful weather to the Butts & Boogie Festival at the Union County Fairgrounds. Thursday was school night, and Union County students received tickets for free admission. Rain cancelled Tuesday’s opening night, and the threat of rain and possible severe weather helped to cut down on Wednesday’s opening day crowd, as well, though the rain held off until a little after 8 p.m. The weather for the rest of the festival will be cooler and windy, but clear. Friday and Saturday will feature the BBQ competition, the Junior Charity League’s Spring Market, Friday night’s Jess Kellie Adams featured concert, and Saturday’s featured Lonestar concert at Union County Stadium. Lonestar tickets remain available today and tomorrow online at www.freshtix.com. They are available for purchase today at WBCU, Buffalo Pawn Shop, Clemson Extension, Dairio, Embroidery by Karen, and Fat Sam’s. Tickets will also be available at the door. General admission tickets are $30 each, and VIP tickets with field seating near the stage are $50 each. Gates will open at the stadium at 4:30, with Jess Kellie Adams opening at 6, and Lonestar taking the stage at 7:30.
Admission to the Butts & Boogie Festival is $8 for ages 13-61, and $6 for children ages 2-12 and seniors ages 62 and older. Toddlers under age 2 get in free. Hand stamps to ride all the rides will be $25 Friday and Saturday.
