$855.40 in travel, food, and hotel costs fraudulently charged to her account
The Union County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Union woman with financial transaction card theft and two counts of financial transaction card fraud. The victim reported that she was hanging out with friends on March 30. One friend asked if she wanted to come to Roadway Inn and party for her birthday, and she agreed and went for about an hour. During that time, a pizza was delivered. The woman left shortly thereafter, and she noticed a Pizza Hut receipt was lying on the ground outside for the pizza that had been delivered. After going to the bank the next day to get money and check her balance, she discovered several transactions had been made to her bank card without her permission. A total of $855.40 in charges were made to Expedia, Bantam Chef, Delta Airlines, Roadway Inn, and Pizza Hut. The woman went back to Roadway Inn and found the Pizza Hut receipt that matched the amount that was taken from her account, and the receipt showed the money had come from her account. 31-year-old Brittany Juanita Howell was arrested on Saturday and charged in the incident.
