Woman Charged After Fight Between Juveniles Leads to Stabbing

Daniel Prince

Woman accused of encouraging the juveniles to fight

A juvenile was stabbed by another juvenile during a fight behind some apartments on West Main Street, and a Union woman faces a charge in connection to it. PFC Thomas Willingham was dispatched to an address on Walker Heights on Monday, March 20, regarding the fight. The 16-year-old victim stated he was in a physical altercation with the other juvenile, a 17-year-old, behind the Fairforest Five apartments on West Main Street in the back alley. The victim stated he was home when someone began sending him messages on Snapchat, stating he had spoken bad about a family member who was deceased and telling him to meet at the apartment. The juvenile went there, and found that the other juvenile’s mother, sister, and brother were at the location, as well. The two juveniles fought, and the victim said the other juvenile pulled out a knife and stabbed him with it. He said he had on a bubble coat, so the knife didn’t penetrate the skin too much. Willingham obtained video footage of the incident from someone. He then contacted SRO Garrett to let her know about the situation, as the juveniles attend the same school.

As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Dartasia Jeanette Brooks was charged with disorderly conduct. Her arrest warrant states that she encouraged and enticed the two juveniles to fight in the back alley.
