Sorrow already faces several charges related to vehicle break-ins

A Union woman who was arrested in connection with several vehicle break-ins faces an additional charge of 3rd-degree burglary. Stevie Marie Leigh Ann Sorrow was charged last Thursday for the incident. Sgt. Lee with the Union Public Safety Department was dispatched to an address on North Church Street for a report of a trespasser. He identified Sorrow as the suspect after his investigation. Sorrow granted him permission to search her personal property, and he found a card with the victim’s name on it. Sorrow also had a laptop that had the victim’s name on the screen. Lee found the victim’s address on Meng Creek Road. He then requested assistance from the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Childers met with the victim at her residence on Meng Creek Road. She stated she wasn’t aware of any property missing, but a short time later, she called law enforcement back to let them know that a burglary had indeed occurred at her residence, and she was missing a pink laptop, a bookbag, and a jacket. She said she last saw the items in her home on April 13. Sorrow told Sgt. Lee that an unknown black female had given her the property. Following the investigation, Sorrow was charged by the Union Public Safety Department with possession of stolen property, and she is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with 3rd-degree burglary in the incident.
