Money stolen from under her mattress
The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and theft of money from a residence. Deputies responded last Thursday to an address on Railroad Street for the larceny of a large sum of money. They spoke to the victim, who stated that someone had broken into her house while she was at work and stole her money, which she kept in a blue pouch under her mattress. She stated that no one knew about the money and its location except for her, and she couldn’t think of anyone who might have been involved. The report lists potential charges of third-degree burglary and grand larceny of more than $10,000, should the robber be found and arrested. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the case.
